Pakistan have not hosted Tests since 2009 when the touring Sri Lankan side came under a terror attack. The Asian country has since hosted all home Tests in the United Arab Emirates across three venues in Dubai, Abu Dhabi and Sharjah. The team has since hosted teams such as England, Sri Lanka, South Africa, west Indies and Australia.
WINNING RUN
Despite the lack of home advantage, the team has managed to register wins consistently in the longer format. Since August 2014, Pakistan have won four series and drawn one each against New Zealand and England. The wins have come against such teams as Australia, England and Sri Lanka.
TEAM RE-BUILDING
The team has been on the mend ever since the 2010 spot-fixing scandal was exposed. The side has seen multiple changes since then.
Star players such as Salman Butt, Mohammad Asif were banned following the scandal with Mohammed Amir only being allowed to return to international cricket earlier this year.
In 2014, ace spinner Saeed Ajmal was banned by the ICC for illegal bowling action. Other disciplinary issues have seen key players such as — Kamran Akmal and Ahmed Shehzad go in and out of the side.
In the past year, the side has largely remained unchanged with skipper Misbah-ul-Haq keeping the side together despite the upheavals all-around.
