Commonwealth Games 2022 Day 6 Highlights: India's rich haul in weightlifting continues, Tejaswin Shankar wins bronze

Totally dominant, the Indians. They have created a number of chances, which they do in most matches. But this time, they have converted most of them into goals. Now all they need to do is not squander this lead like they did against England. 

India running away with it now. Hardik collects the ball on the left, runs ahead and squares it for Gurjant who makes no mistake with the finish.

A wonderfully worked goal. Varun with a lovely ball from the defensive area, Rohidas collects it, sprints into the D and smashes it home. Goalkeeper is nothing more than a bystander for that, sensational hit. India are totally dominant so far.

India take the lead thanks to a laser of a drag flick from Harmanpreet in a penalty corner routine. That struck the Canadian goalie's left arm and still went through. Venomous power and India take the lead with just over 8 mins left in the first quarter. 

So the women's team had to beat Canada to go through to the semi-final, the men's team have to meanwhile beat Canada to top their group. This is pretty crucial because going top would mean that the men would avoid facing the mighty Australia in the semi-finals itself, something the women's team have to do now.

An absolute thriller across 27 ends and Borgohain finishes level on six points with England's Ross Davis in men's singles sectional play. 

What a bout that was. Mohammed Husammuddin has beaten Namibian Tryagain Morning Ndevelo by split decision and is through to the semis. The medals keep coming for India in boxing. 

Nitu Ghanghas has defeated Nicole Clyde of Northern Ireland and it looks like the latter actually abandoned the bout before the third round because of the Indian's intensity. Nitu has reached the women's 48kg semi-final and that means she is assured of at least a bronze medal. Two bronze medals are awarded in boxing. 

3-2 is how it ends! India have really pulled a rabbit out of the hat here and it is becoming increasingly clear that they are a difficult team to put down when they have their backs against the walls. They are through to the semis, heartbreak for Canada. The one bad news for India is that Lalremsiami seemed to be injured and had to be taken off towards the end. 

India get the goal after all and it comes from a penalty corner routine. Lalremsiami finally gets a touch after a scramble post the delivery of the ball and it is deflected in. Gigantic goal, just over 5 mins left. 

Tulilka Mann has reached the final of the women's +78kg event in judo and that is a second medal assured for India in the sport. She beats Sydnee Andrews of New Zealand by Ippon. 

Neha Goyal had scored but the umpire takes a referral. Replay shows that the ball had hit the back of Salima Tete's stick in the buildup. Goal ruled out, 10 mins left in the match. 

India's medal hopes hanging by a thread now. They have to find a winner in this final quarter. 

GOAL! PC for Canada, thanks to a stick check... and they EQUALIZE! It's 2-2 now in the third quarter.

Joshna Chinnapa and Harvinder Singh Sandhu defeat Sri Lanka's Yeheni Kuruppu and Ravindu Laksiri by 8-11 11-4 11-3 in the Round of 32 match.

Canada pull one back after Navneet extended India's lead. Brienne Stairs reduces the deficit after scoring through a short corner. India, however, lead 2-1 at half-time.

Bronze medal for India's Lovepreet Singh! Roberts-Young of Australia fails to lift 211kg, as Lovepreet finishes in the third spot.

Lovepreet Singh secures BRONZE with a total lift of 355Kg in the Men’s 109Kg Final. Cameroon's Junior Periclex Ngadja Nyabayeu taking the Gold, while Samoa's Jack Hitila Opeloge bags silver.

Bhavina Patel seals the match in four games. The Indian defeats Australia's Daniela Toro 3-1 (8-11, 11-4, 11-7, 11-9) in the group stage of Women's Singles (Class 3-5).

India's Tulika Maan beats Mauritius' Tracy Durhone in women's 78+ kg quarterfinals of judo and advances to the semi-final.

The mixed Squash duo of Joshna Chinappa and Sandhu is in action in the Round of 32 match against Sri Lanka. Stay tuned for the updated result.

Salima Tete managed to get the tap-in at the far post and that's the only goal that separates the two sides. After 1st Quarter, India lead 1-0 against Canada!!

Samoa's Jack Hitila Opeloge has lifted 194kg! He moves into the gold medal position.
