CWG 2026 Day 6: Gulveer Singh became the first Indian to win a medal in the men's 10,000m final

Commonwealth Games 2026 LIVE Updates Day 6: Gulveer Singh scripted history on Tuesday night as he became the first Indian to win a long-distance medal at the Commonwealth Games. He came second to secure a silver in the men's 10,000m final. He trailed for the majority of the contest, but a final stretch saw him run like there was no tomorrow, and he finished second. Three Indian boxers- Preeti Pawar, Priya Ghanghas and Jadumani Singh also assured India of at least a bronze medal as they progressed to the semi-finals in their respective weight categories. However, the sixth day of the competition also brought some disappointment as Nirupama Devi failed to win a medal in the women's 63kg category.
