India drew Gulf countries in Wednesday's draw for the qualifiers at the Asian Football Confederation's headquarters in Kuala Lumpur. They play Qatar in round 2 of the 2012 Olympic qualifiers and the UAE in the World Cup qualifiers.

Under Desmond Bulpin, the Indian Olympic squad beat Myanmar in the first round, winning 3-2 on aggregate. The squad comprises mostly players from the Indian Arrows team. India play Qatar away on June 19 and at home on June 23.

Top two teams from each group will qualify for the final round and the best third team.
