Speaking in Botswana after the European Union's police agency said nearly 700 recent games have or may have been fixed, the head of world football insisted match-fixing only affects around 0.004% of matches.

Blatter said Saturday that more than a million matches a year are clean.

Blatter is on a four-country tour of Africa ahead of Sunday's African Cup of Nations final in South Africa and also played down the extent of corruption in football in visits to Mauritania and Guinea.

Blatter said in Mauritania that most of the cases of alleged match-fixing Europol raised last week had already been dealt with.
