A string of impressive displays for Flamengo in the Brazilian league persuaded Menezes to recall the 31-year-old Ronaldinho for the first time in nine months ahead of Monday's friendly against Ghana in London.

Menezes insists Ronaldinho's return "is not a temporary solution" and believes the playmaker's experience and history will be vital in a squad packed with young players.

Menezes said Sunday "Ronaldinho is enjoying himself again ... he is a leader and a player you can rely on."
