Jaume Marquet Cot, who names himself "Jimmy Jump," was fined for trespassing and attempted theft of the World Cup trophy.

Cot ran onto the pitch just ahead of the start of the final between Spain and the Netherlands. Security guards stopped him before he reached the trophy displayed on the pitch.

Reports said that Cot did not want to steal the trophy but rather wanted to put a Spanish-style hat on it.

Cot is a notorious invader of events. He recently sneaked onto the stage during the Eurovision Song Contest in Oslo during the performance of Spaniard Daniel Diges.
