Shahid Kapoor was born in New Delhi. He is the son of actors Pankaj Kapur and Neelima Azeem. He made his Bollywood debut as a dancer in Subhash Ghai's Taal (1999). Four years later, he made his debut as a lead in Ishq Vishk (2003) and won a Filmfare Best Male Debut Award for his performance. Shahid impressed the audience with his performance in films like Fida, Shikhar and Kabir Singh. He tasted commercial success with Sooraj R. Barjatya's Vivah, and followed it up with Jab We Met, Kaminey and Padmaavat. He is married to Mira Rajput.
