As the heart of the early 20th century Bengal renaissance and the cultural core of India, Kolkata is steeped in drama, art and literature. Distinct features which come to mind immediately when one thinks of the City of Joy are its paras (neighborhoods) and adda sessions. Cultural institutions such as Victoria Memorial, Indian Museum and the National Library of India are favourite old time haunts of both residents and visitors alike.
