CEO reveals she and husband live in separate houses, claims they are happier: ‘Our marriage has never been better’
A married CEO revealed she lives in a separate apartment from her husband, claiming the unconventional move improved their marriage.
A woman’s unconventional marriage arrangement has sparked widespread conversation online after she revealed that she lives in a separate apartment down the street from her husband. Despite being happily married, the couple decided to live apart due to conflicting daily habits. Marcella Hill, a CEO and influencer, said that the move ultimately transformed their relationship for the better, shifting their dynamic into a fun, dating-like phase while improving their personal habits and boosting the quality of their family time together.
In the video, Marcella Hill says, “My husband lives in our house less than a mile away and I live in an apartment complex just down the street because I just didn't want to freaking live there anymore. The way he lives, the way I live, very very different. It was not working for a very long time but we love each other.”

She explains that they are not looking to get divorced, and there isn't any “drama” in their relationship. She is just staying separate because she didn't want to keep living the way she was anymore.
The move, she says, changed her life. She continued that it helped her husband change his lifestyle, too. “He is redecorating. The man is doing things I have not seen him do ever. He's feeding himself… He's hanging out with new friends. He's regularly taking care of the lawn.”
While talking about herself, Hill shares, “Meanwhile, I'm getting my a** to the gym regularly, eating to nourish my body, taking long walks. I'm building my company on a regular basis. We are spending more family time together than we ever did before.”
She adds that her relationship with her husband has also changed, and it feels like they are in “dating mode,” which she describes as “super fun.” While sharing the video, she wrote, “How’s having my own place?! Amazing!!!” on Instagram. She also says, “Our marriage has never been better.”

While some loved her video, others were concerned about her relationship. A few also shared how they are in similar arrangements with their partners.
An individual commented, “What a dream. This should be normalised. Maybe investing in building a small apartment in the backyard. I would love that.”
Another Instagram user commented, “Honest question…all the things that you two are doing now…why were you two not able to do them while living together? Hang out with friends, take care of the lawn, going to the gym…I’m so utterly confused.”
