A video that is doing the rounds on social media has captured an incident wherein a large crowd can be seen looting bananas from a donkey cart. The video from Pakistan shows a child handling the cart. The footage has quickly gone viral, drawing widespread attention and sparking discussions online.

“A mob in Pakistan steals from a kid selling bananas on his donkey cart,” reads the caption of the video shared on a Twitter handle called Crazy Clips. The video was originally posted by Pakistan-based journalist Fazil Jamili in 2018. He captioned it, “Pakistan is not a banana republic but this poor boy selling bananas on his donkey cart looted by the brazen mob.”

Since being shared on May 8, the video has raked up more than 1.9 million views, and the numbers are still increasing. The share has even received numerous responses from people.

A Twitter user claimed, “This happened in 2018 in Sheikhupura Pakistan. It was in the middle of a protest. Very sad, but such incidents are definitely not common in Pakistan. After this happened, the Federal Information Minister of Pakistan financially helped the boy.” “Shameful; Karma knows your address,” added another. A third commented, “It's an old video. A local man helped him and gave him all amount for all his bananas.” “So sad,” expressed a fourth. A fifth wrote, “I am from Pakistan and that did happen. But when that video appeared on social media, many businessmen not only reimbursed the money for bananas but also helped financially so the kid can enroll in school.”
