Akshay Kumar returning to the small screen?

Akshay Kumar's stint on TV started in 2008 with Khatron Ke Khiladi and the last time we saw him on television was in 2011, hosting a cooking-based reality show. Now, it seems the actor might be returning to the tube again, this time with a dance-and-stunt-based reality show.

Most A-list actors are balancing a TV career alongside films. Akshay Kumar is one of them. His stint on television started in 2008 when he hosted an adventure sport-based show for three seasons, and the last time we saw him on television was in 2011, hosting a cooking-based reality show.

Now, it seems the actor might be returning to the tube again, this time with a dance-and-stunt-based reality show.

If sources are to be believed,

has given his go-ahead to a serial that will feature names from show business itself and will test their dancing and stunt-performing capabilities.

"This is the first time the channel is attempting a reality show since its re-launch three years back," says the source, adding, "Akshay seemed like the right choice as he is the right mix of someone who’s a daredevil and dancer; something that the channel was looking for. It will be shot in Cape Town, South Africa, later this year."

While the channel remained unavailable for comment, a friend of the actor says, "Yes, he has been approached, but is yet to take up the offer."
