Darsheel puts his dancing shoes on

Darsheel Safary of Taare Zameen Par fame is the youngest contestant on the dance reality show.

Actor Darsheel Safary (above) is all geared up to set the stage on fire with his dance moves in Jhalak Dikhla Jaa season 5. “I always wanted to dance, and I am doing this just for my fans,” says the 16-years-old. Darsheel was in fact discovered by script writer and creative director Amol Gupte when he was looking for a child male lead for the film, Taare Zameen Par, at Shaimak Davar’s dancing school, Summer Funk. This is the first time Jhalak Dikhla Jaa will include a child artist among its contestants.

Being the youngest contestant on the show Darsheel feels that everyone will treat him like a kid but he has to make his impression on the judges as well as the audience. His partner in the show is Avneet Kaur, who debuted in Dance India Dance L’il Master. Talking about Avneet, he says, “She is like my sister. She and my sister both join forces and its hell on earth for me.” He adds, “Avi is very talkative and naughty and keeps on laughing all the time, but she is a very good dancer.”

Darsheel is also super excited to perform before Madhuri Dixit, who is one of the judges on the show. “She is one of the greatest dancers and I have seen many of her films. I just hope I do well.” The first episode of the show will go on air on June 16 on Colors.
