For his first TV project, David O. Russell has chosen to collaborate on a new upstairs/downstairs drama in the vein of Downton Abbey, only set in a private country club rather than a British family estate.

ABC has ordered 13 episodes of the yet untitled project, which will be co-produced by Russell alongside Susannah Grant, the screenwriter behind Erin Brockovich, the 2000 film starring Julia Roberts.

Before directing his future TV series, David O. Russell will be in the limelight on March 2 at the 86th Academy Awards.

The director's latest film American Hustle has been nominated for no less than ten awards, tying with Gravity as the year's most nominated films.
