Once considered the queen of Bollywood, actor Madhuri Dixit says she is now happy playing a doting wife and mother. “I miss my craft sometimes — the acting and dancing bits. But, I am happy being with my family and being a hands-on mother,” says the mother of two sons, Arin (7) and Raayan (5).

That said, the actor, who has settled in Denver, US, with her husband Dr Sriram Nene, doesn’t rule out a Bollywood comeback. “There are great offers coming my way, but I’m still in talks, and things are not really finalised,” says Dixit, who will be seen as a judge on Sony’s celebrity dance show,
Jhalak Dikhla Jaa
.
Asked if her children like watching her movies, she says, “They enjoy the dance and music of Bollywood movies and we do have our jig sessions at home every now and then.” Is there any contemporary actor who, according to her, can be the next Madhuri? “I don’t try to find myself in other actors. But, actors today are much more confident than we were,” she says. And what does Bollywood’s dancing queen, known for the iconic song,
Dil Dhak Dhak Karne Laga
, think of Katrina Kaif’s recent hit,
Sheila Ki Jawani
? “I am sorry, but I haven’t heard of the song,” she says.
