Even if I’ve played a bahu, it has been an unconventional one: Shveta Salve

TV actor Shveta Salve says she has been careful about choosing her work, as she needs to be convinced about what she’s doing.

Shveta Salve, who has been part of serials such as Hip Hip Hurray and Kaahin Kissi Roz, was last seen on the small screen in 2015 in Ek Tha Chander Ek Thi Sudha. The actor delivered a baby girl on August 11, and plans to return to work soon.

Ask her if she feels that competition on TV has increased over the years, and she says, “There has always been competition. Of course, when I started out, it wasn’t as strong. But if you are good at your work, people will call you. So, whenever I get a good opportunity, I jump at it. I love my work.”

The actor says she’s been offered a few supernatural shows in the past, but she doesn’t “enjoy this kind of content”. “If you see my career graph, all my shows have been progressive. I have been careful about my choices because I need to be convinced about what I’m doing,” she adds.

Shveta considers herself “lucky” to be part of shows that had quality content.

“I was probably offered such shows because of my personality. Even if I’ve played a daughter-in-law, the role has been that of an unconventional one,” she adds.
