Hard to believe that my fans are hurting Divyanka Tripathi: Ssharad Malhotra

Actor Ssharad Malhotraa talks about his reaction when he got a message from ex-girlfriend Divyanka Tripathi.

Actor Ssharad Malhotraa recently posted a long message for his fans on Instagram in which he asked them to not post any negative comments for his ex-girlfriend Divyanka Tripathi. He did so after receiving a text from her complaining about getting abuses from his fans.

About his first reaction to the text from Tripathi, Malhotraa says, “I was not angry, I was a little amused because knowing my fans from last 10 years, they have never done something like this. My fans have been very harmless, so I could not think that they would go to such an extend to hurt somebody. When I got to know this, it was a little hard to believe,” says Malhotraa, who was in a relationship with Tripathi for seven years.

After their split in 2015, Tripathi tied the knot with actor Vivek Dahiya this year in July.

Malhotraa feels it is important to respect a woman. “She is married now. We have known each other for seven or eight years and had a great relationship. Fortunately or unfortunately it did not work out, which is fair enough. That does not mean that you disrespect that woman or that part of a relationship. My parents have always taught me to respect a woman. Period. Whether she is wrong or right comes later but you have to respect her,” he says.

Although, it is difficult for Malhotraa to believe that his fans would ever hurt someone but the actor understands the kind of frenzy the fans are capable of. “I got a message from her saying that my fans were posting something negative. This is never ending process. It is limitless. A fan is in love with you, they want to know everything that is happening in your personal and professional life. If you are a fan, you can get carried away and end up saying something that is not pleasant.” he says.
