Karan Kundra who plays the lead role in Kitani Mohabbat hain, clinched this role when Ekta Kapoor was on the look out for new talents for her show.

He sent a ‘friend’ request to Ekta Kapoor on Facebook and to his great surprise Ekta accepted his request. He received an email from Balaji telefilms asking him to audition for the new show immediately. Since he was based in Jalandhar, he couldn’t make it to the audition, but immediately shot a video of himself on his mobile and sent it as an MMS to the Balaji team.

Impressed, Ekta made sure that the next thing Karan did was catch a flight to Mumbai for the look test. And to his surprise, was selected to play the lead.
