Priyanka Chopra has posed for a new series of pictures for Vogue magazine’s August issue. The accompanying piece celebrates the actor’s worldwide appeal and laundry list of accomplishments.

Since her debut on Quantico, which made her the first Indian-born actor to star in a US network series, the piece says, she “has become not only an on-screen fixture but a passionate advocate for women, writing for several publications on women’s rights and safety, child marriage, and many other topics.”

In the pictures, taken by Daniel Jackson, Priyanka can be seen wearing a sleek, steel grey dress, which Vogue conveniently identifies as being a Nili Lotan dress worth $595. She is also wearing shoulder-touching sea-shell inspired earrings.

Priyanka spoke about her humble beginnings - she was born in Bareilly - in the article. “My job at ten or eleven was to be an assistant pharmacist—they would take out pills, and I had to put them in little packets to give to people,” said the actor, who initially wanted to become a doctor.

Recently, she’s been making headlines for her rumoured relationship with actor-singer Nick Jonas. The two were in London this week to celebrate her 36th birthday.

Priyanka had taken part in Vogue’s YouTube series, 73 Questions, last year in which she had shared her beauty secrets and answered questions about her life. She has also been featured on the magazine’s cover.

Over the last several weeks, Priyanka and Nick have made their relationship semi-official by introducing each other to their families. While Priyanka attended Nick’s family wedding, he accompanied the actor to India where he met her mother and other family members. The couple was met at 2017’s Met Gala; they were later spotted on several dates, including a dinner date in New York City and a Beauty and the Beast Live in Concert show in Los Angeles.
