Parul Chauhan: People thought I won’t be able to do anything but I proved them wrong
TV actor Parul Chauhan feels that her success on the small screen, following her TV show Bidaai, made her more grounded.
Parul Chauhan didn’t have a smooth journey to stardom. The actor, who started her career on small screen with the show Woh Rehne Waali Mehlon Ki had to go through her share of struggle to make a name for herself in the industry.

Reminiscing early days of her career, Parul shares that she had started her journey in Mumbai in 2005, and had to work really hard for the initial two and a half years to finally land a good project.
“I did not know what it takes to become an actor. For me, it was more like learning on the job. The process changed my life completely and taught me a lot of things,” says Parul, who rose to fame with TV show Sapna Babul Ka...Bidaai that also starred Sara Khan in the main lead. Parul later did shows such as Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa 3, Rishton Se Badi Pratha and Punar Vivah - Ek Nayi Umeed and Punar Vivah - Ek Nayi Umeed.
The actor says that it was only with Bidaai that she got her big break on TV. “People, who used to think that I will not able to do anything, I proved them wrong. Bidaai definitely changed my life. It made me what I am today,” she says, adding that the success made her more grounded.
Talking about the kind of characters she wants to explore next, Parul says, “As an actor, I would like to portray different characters. I am currently playing a mother in a show, so I would love to explore some other characters in future.”
