Recession comes in various guises and creativity is also being curbed. The latest victim of recession is our soap queen Ekta Kapoor. Tentatively titled Fashion, the Balaji Telefilms’ project on the glam world has now been put on hold.

Since having a big budget show in recessionary times may not be a wise idea, Ekta thinks there’s no point in investing money when most shows are hardly drawing good TRPs and their profitability.

Inspired by Madhur Bhandarkar's 'Fashion', this show by Balaji might be shelved. Apparently, other projects of Balaji too have been put on hold.

Adding further, the source says that earlier, Fashion was to replace Kitani Mohabbat hai, but since the latter picked up in TRP ratings, thereby forcing Balaji to delay their ambitious project. Also, the breakdown in relations with Popkorn Entertainment has also hit Balaji badly.
