This evening we will see the launch of the Super Fight League (SFL) that teams actor-producer Sanjay Dutt with businessman Raj Kundra. Hours before the Mixed Martial Arts event goes live, Sanjay affirms that his partner and he plan to dedicate the sporting extravaganza to his late father, actor Sunil Dutt.

“SFL is a personal affair for Raj and me. We intend to dedicate this initiative to my father. So each event that comprises SFL is important for us,” beams Sanjay. He adds that for as long as his father, a former Union Sports Minister, was alive, he also made tremendous efforts to lift the standards and provisions made for Indian sports and sportsmen outside the domain of cricket.

“Dad wasn’t only focussed on cricket. He had great plans for all the sports in the country including hockey, boxing and football. He always wanted our sportsmen to become popular around the world,” Sanjay recalls. “So now, when Raj and I have launched SFL, we really want to make sure that our fighters are acknowledged across the world.”

The first event unfolds at Andheri Sports Complex today at 7 pm. Sanjay has his hands full with multiple films on floors. When asked how he had managed to look into the details of the sporting event, the father of three says, “It hasn’t been tough for me at all, thanks to Raj. He has looked after everything and worked extremely hard. He assured me that I could be away from Mumbai while we had such a huge event coming up. I can never get over his team spirit.”
