Farewells are bittersweet- bitter because the journey has to be halted and sweet because of the experience the journey turned out to be.
This is the thought of about one billion Indians today, as Satyamev Jayate's last episode was aired.
Aamir Khan, the mind, producer and the host of the show affected everyone wonderfully with his raging social issues, sensitive opinions and more than anything, delicate sentiments.
He spoke about issues like water, old-age, untouchability, alcohol abuse, toxic food, domestic violence, persons with disabilities, intolerance to love, every life is precious, big fat indian wedding, child sexual abuse and female foeticide.
In his last and the thirteenth episode that aired today, Aamir Khan threw light on the relentless work many socal workers are doing for the betterment of the community and the country, without any returns.
They are the unsung heroes of today.
The effect of the show can be seen on the microblogging site, Twitter as well with trending of the program's initiative Let My India Awake.
People are increasingly sharing their feelings about the show ending and the difference it has made to their lives. People are saying:
@shilpidpathak: #LetMyIndiaAwake to a new morning of hope, love and brotherhood, where there is no terrorism, no fear and no no malice
@RishabhMalik: #LetMyIndiaAwake to my brothers from different mothers tagged as of diff caste.I do not accept the tags given by the society.
@nkfreaky9: #LetMyIndiaAwake to take a suitable decision by taking common peoples in mind...
@AmanWadud: Corruption of Mind is the worst form of Corruption. #LetMyIndiaAwake
@RonyDutta: The last episode of Satyamev Jayate. Very very inspirational! #LetMyIndiaAwake
@junejarajiv: #LetMyIndiaAwake to a place where everyone fulfills his/her responsibilities and feel proud about that.
One of the highlights of the show has been that Aamir Khan has taken a very humanitarian, non-political stance on all the issues the show has garnered information about. The motive is to bring about healthy change, that is above the divided of caste, class, religion and politics.
But this good thing, need not necessarily end. Aamir Khan has hinted at a comeback for the show, to return with newer issues in the second season of Satyamev Jayate.
Till then, like the last song in Satyamev Jayate is worded- Nikal Pado Re Bandhu, Nikal Pado Re, Nikal Pado Re, Arey Na Mumkin Bhi Mumkin Hove, Karke Dekho Re Bandh, Nikal Pado Re, Aamir Khan hopes we all do our bit to make this country a better place.
