Shakti Kapoor, having tasted success with both fiction and non-fiction shows on Indian television, is now enjoying his small screen stint in Indonesia. The actor, who shot to fame with TV show Meri Aashiqui Tum Se Hi, says that the love he’s getting from his fans in the island country, is making his experience all the more special.
“My show Meri Aashiqui Tum Se Hi is aired in Indonesia, as the characters are a huge hit there. After the show ended, I went for a trip and the response from my fans was overwhelming. Their adulation made me feel like Shah Rukh Khan. There were so many of them cheering for me. Some of them literally tore my clothes off,” shares the actor.
For the last two months, Shakti has been working on a reality show Pesbukers, and a web series Cinta Di Pangkuan Himalaya, in Indonesia.
The actor, who continues to receive gifts from his fans, adds that some of them even gathered outside the studio to get a glimpse of him. Narrating one such crazy fan experience, Shakti quips, “There was one girl who waited for me for six hours. That time I was shooting continuously, as we were creating a bank of episodes for the show. Finally when I got a five-minute break, I went out to meet my fans and this girl got so excited and requested me for a picture. When I obliged, she just fainted and that was quite an experience. Then there is another fan, who visits me on the set daily and also brings along a gift every day.”
