Sharad Malhotra, Pooja Bisht end relationship over cheating, commitment phobia claims
TV actors Sharad Malhotra and Pooja Bisht have parted ways but the separation hasn’t been pleasant with Pooja accusing him of cheating on her while he has vehemently denied doing so.
Popular TV stars -- Sharad Malhotra and Pooja Bisht -- have ended their relationship, much to the dismay of their fans. However, the break up has happened after much unpleasantness.
Breaking her silence to Bombay Times post the break up, Pooja has said that their relationship ended because Sharad cheated on her. Pooja explained at length how Sharad kept her in the dark over two issues -- first, that he was commitment-phobic and that he had decided to end their relationship nearly two months back and yet chose to keep her in the dark. She also said he was secretly seeing another girl.
She said, “Sharad started acting weird around six months ago, when he suddenly became inattentive and disinterested. However, I assumed that it was because of stress at work; I couldn’t fathom that he was planning to end the relationship. Around two months ago, I got to know that he was meeting a girl on the pretext of professional collaboration.”
She added how Sharad would tell her that his manager had fixed a meeting with the girl in question. However, she later found that they were connected on Instagram.
She went on to say how on the day of the break up he revealed how he didn’t feel any connection with Pooja anymore. He also said that he had consulted an astrologer two months ago and had been advised to part ways with her as it would be detrimental for him.
She went on to say that she saw no reason to panic as the couple had discussed marriage recently. “Looking back, I realise that his stance on marriage would change every six months. During the initial phase of our relationship, he had told my mother that he wanted to marry me, but after that, he never called her up. We have had our share of fights, but he would always come back promising to make things work,” the Bombay Times quoted her as saying.
Sharad on his part accepted that the reason for their break up was indeed his commitment-phobic nature. Speaking to Bombay Times, he said that while he did want to marry her, his commitment phobia finally led him away.
On the issue of keeping her in the dark for two months since he had made up his mind, he accepted that he was wrong. However, he added that before declaring his decision, he wanted to make sure about his feelings and hence delayed in telling her.
“Yes, it was a mistake that I didn’t tell her for two-and-a-half months, but I wanted to be sure before I broke the news to her.”
Sharad, however, vehemently denied that there was any ‘other girl’ in this episode. “Irrespective of whoever I meet, there is no third party involved,” he said.
It may be recalled that Sharad was in an eight-year old relationship with actor Divyanka Tripathi. Divyanka has since moved on and is happily married to Vivek Dahiya.
