Single in the city

Kavita Kaushik talks to Anil Merani on her single status and the shows she will be seen in.

Now, she says she’s single, not even all that keen to mingle. Guess so because will be busy anchoring the Star Plus comedy reality show Arre Deewano Mujhe Pehchano. It will feature celebrities donning various disguises and making the aam janta recognise them.

The first episode will see Kavita Kaushik dressed up as a child. The reality show, not to be confused with Star One’s Hello Kaun Pehchaan Kaun, features Mandira Bedi, Mona Singh and Rakhi Sawant as contestants. Arre Deewano.. won’t have any of the mandatory elimination drama.

Reality check
Kaushik says that after Nach Baliye 3, in which she had participated with former boyfriend Karan Grover, she had stayed out of reality shows. “I’m glad to come back as an anchor,” she exults. Her co-anchor er.. is an animated donkey called Gadhashree. This isn’t the first anchoring assignment for the Tumhari Disha actress. She has hosted Garam Masala and K for Cricket with Kavita Kaushik. She says, “ Playing host is a very hands-on job. Now I know how busy Hussain and Tina (Kuwajerwala) were during Nach Baliye 3.”

No more tears
The actress isn’t keen on doing more family dramas because she can’t relate to the characters: “No one cries so much in real life! On the contrary, we laugh much more.” Currently, she is being seen with Shiv Pandit in the cop comedy FIR.
