Ad man Sunny Arora of Marinating Films has launched the first calendar featuring celebrities from the Indian television industry. Twelve well-known bahus get glamorous for first-ever TV calendartv Updated: Apr 08, 2012 13:30 IST
Ad man Sunny Arora of Marinating Films has launched the first calendar featuring celebrities from the Indian television industry. “There are many calendars with Bollywood stars and models, but none with TV actors. Although TV has a huge presence and market, it doesn’t get its due credit,” feels Sunny who will launch the calendar with a fashion show this week in the city.
The calendar will be circulated among ad agencies and TV production houses and “is a branding tool more than a business venture,” he says, adding, “TV actors are so popular today that if Shweta Tiwari and Sushmita Sen land at an airport, Shweta would get more attention.” Giaa Manek, Pooja Gor, Ankita Lokhande, Shweta Tiwari, Juhi Parmar, Sara Khan, Hina Khan feature in the calendar. “I had planned to feature three stylish girls, Shveta Salve — who has the body language of an international model — and Mouni Roy and Barkha Bisht who are known for their sexy looks. Most TV bahus aren’t very stylish in real life, so we have a blend of popular and stylish actors.”
Twelve of the small screen’s leading ladies, who’re usually seen only in traditional garb, show off their glamorous, uninhibited side in ad-man Sunny Arora’s calendar.
‘Couldn’t miss it’
Hina Khan couldn’t miss this opportunity to be part of the calender as she “Got to be captured in a never-seen-before, glamorous, bold and sexy look unlike my onscreen character, Akshara, who is always dressed in Indian wear.” Sunny was glad that she was cool about the blue dress and boldness quotient too.
‘This is Juhi’s biggest makeover’
Juhi Parmar wanted to be a rockstar, but Sunny wasn’t sure if they would have been able to pull off the look with her. “She has never been seen in a short skirt, but we ended up with an amazing shot,” he says.
‘Her boldest shoot ever’
“Sara Khan was the first one to shoot for us,” claims Sunny, adding that she was cool about the look and the way she was presented. “Other than Shveta Salve, only Sara was ready to pose in such a seductive manner. We completed the shot in a jiffy. She is special for us.” Sara feels the shoot was her most glamorous one till date. She says, “I had fun shooting with a cigar in my hand, which was novel too.”
"We got Ashley Rebello to style Pooja Gor as she wanted to be shot as a Christian bride," says Sunny. "Though busy, Ashley gave us a lovely wedding gown and Pooja got the whole look down pat. She wanted it to be perfect."
