Mumbai’s contestant, Jai Kumar Nair on the Zee dance contest Dance India Dance, despite being a prolific dancer failed to get adulation from the judges unlike his other peers, Salman, Prince and Siddhesh.

This week, Nair’s moves were put together by Terence Lewis. And the boy ensured that he didn’t let the choreographer down. He gave a superlative performance on the song, Manmohini teri ada from Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam.
He was in the bottom two this week but he didn’t let that affect his performance.. which left everyone including the mentors and the grandmaster spellbound. He received a standing ovation too.
Lewis, who was choked with emotions, ran to hug Nair because the genre of dance wasn’t his forte. An AV changed the ambience on the sets. Ace choreographer and dance guru, Shiamak Davar, appeared in it and revealed that Nair was his ex-student.
Dance guru praised Nair’s performance to the hilt and wished him luck. He clarified that Nair and he had parted ways for a reason which best stays between them.. though he expressed that he wants to reunite with his pupil.
The AV moved Nair to tears. For the first time, in over three months of being on the show, the contestant admitted that Shiamak Davar was his guru and he owes all that he has today to him.
It’s known that Lewis and Davar are not exactly on great terms with each other. To top that, just when Lewis was basking in Nair’s triumph, the latter stole his thunder by an open acknowledgement for his real teacher. Lewis gulped that in silence but looked visibly upset. After all, reality really bites and how!
