Sources say actor Shahid Kapoor was approached to host the show, but he turned it down citing date issues. Ganesh Hegde has been approached to be a judge, too. The show features contestants such as Rakhi Sawant, Abhishek Awasthi and Sangeeta Ghosh.

On Zee’s Dance India Dance Li’l Masters, filmmaker-choreographer Farah Khan and dancer-choreographer Sandip Soparrkar have been finalised as judges. The show is expected to take over the weekend slot from Dance India Dance Season II end of April. Ashish Golwalkar, programming head, non-fiction content for Zee, confirms that Soparrkar has signed the dotted line. “Farah will complete the paperwork soon. She has liked the concept of the show.”

While it is clear that the kids version of the dance show aims to compete with Chak Dhoom Dhoom, a kids’ dance contest on Colors that will be judged by Ahmed Khan, Saroj Khan and Vindu Dara Singh, Golwalkar insists that it was a natural progression for Zee, which already has kids formats for shows such as Sa Re Ga Ma Pa. “On DID Li’l Masters, we want to include underage participants who couldn’t participate on DID,” he says.
