The show offered something different for its Holi special episode. It was great to watch Sanchi’s prank of tucking water balloons under Shiv and Anandi’s bedcover. The sequence stood out from the run-of-the-mill Holi celebrations on the tube.

Looks like TV is regressing to the dark ages all over again. Shame on the makers of this show for conceptualising a sequence in which Gopi’s mother-in-law Koki punishes her by taping her mouth. It was belittling, parochial and anti-women, to say the least.
