Why is Kapil Sharma always after Sumona's lips? Fans ask her the same

The 28-year-old actor Sumona Chakravarti, who plays Kapil Sharma's wife in his comedy show, says that people take television very personally and are directly affected by what happens on television shows.

Actor Sumona Chakravarti, who plays stand-up comedian Kapil Sharma’s wife on his ongoing comedy show, Comedy Nights with Kapil, is often the butt of his jokes. Sumona says that many of her fans take offense to the jokes that Kapil makes about her lips on the show.



"So many people ask me why Kapil makes fun of my lips on the show. They say that I have beautiful lips. In fact not only fans, even people in the industry ask me why are my lips always made fun of," says Sumona.

The 28-year-old actor further adds, "People take television very personally. So they are directly affected by what happens on TV. Fans don’t know how it works and many of them feel I am actually married to Kapil."



The actor, who has recently entered the show, Jamai Raja, says that the toughest thing for a television actor is to think of things to do when they don’t have projects in hand.



"We are shooting most of the times and we have a set pattern of things that we have to do. In fact, the only thing that you have to do is work. But it is so tough to spend your time when you are between projects," she says.



The actor, however, is not one to get hassled when she has to balance multiple projects. "I feel that if you manage your time, it is not impossible to balance two shows together. I have done it before as well," she says.
