Will TV show revive Govinda’s career?

Govinda ruled the Bollywood roost in the ’90s with hits such as Shola Aur Shabnam (1992), Raja Babu (1994) and Coolie No. 1 (1995), to name a few. But after 2000, many of his films started getting shelved and quite a few releases even bombed at the box-office.

But it seems that Govinda has not lost hope about making a comeback in Bollywood. In a bid to acquire his lost star status, the actor will be seen judging a television reality show, Indian Model Hunt 2013.

Although Govinda has never been considered a fashion icon, he believes that the show will bring him in the spotlight and help him get some more Bollywood projects. “I’ve never been a part of the fashion world. People have known me as an actor and a Member of Parliament. Every project can benefit a person in some way and maybe this TV show will do wonders for my Bollywood career as well,” says Govinda. “It is only will power that can take a

person to the top.”

Not only is he trying to make his mark as an actor, but Govinda also has plans to turn producer in the future. “It’s possible that I may produce films for the models who will participate in the contest. I would love to introduce them to Bollywood. Models are doing really well as actors right now. Maybe as a producer I will give a few more young talents to the industry,” he says.
