Strawberry cultivation witnesses a boom

The famed golden apple of Himachal Pradesh is losing its sheen and facing stiff competition from the exotic strawberry, which is instead taking the esteemed position once held by it. The strawberry has now become a favourite of farmers across the state who are turning their attention towards it; one of the reasons being that strawberry is the only fruit that starts paying back within100 days of planting, thus making it a lucrative option for the growers.
