A major fire broke out at the Revenue Agency headquarters in Jakarta late Friday, August 7, sending flames and thick smoke billowing from the upper floors of the high-rise building in Indonesia’s capital.
The blaze affected floors 11 to 16 of the 16-storey building in Central Jakarta, according to local media reports citing fire officials. Around 185 firefighters and 37 fire engines were deployed to battle the flames. Firefighters managed to bring the blaze under control after several hours.
