Bengal doctors call off strike after meeting with Mamata Banerjee

Doctors in Bengal called off the week-long strike after meeting West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee. Banerjee held a meeting with the representatives of doctors and assured the security of hospital staff and doctors. Banerjee also discussed a “zero tolerance” policy in the cases of assault on doctors. The strike was called by doctors in West Bengal after two doctors at Kolkata's NRS Hospital were assaulted.
