Hyderabad twin blast case: Two convicted, two acquitted

Two alleged operatives of the Indian Mujahideen were convicted and two others let off on Tuesday by a special court in a case related to the 2007 twin bomb blasts in Hyderabad, in which 44 people were killed and more than 60 injured. Second additional metropolitan sessions judge T Srinivasa Rao convicted the first two accused Mohammed Akbar Ismail Chowdhari and Aneeq Shafique Sayeed for their involvement in the twin blasts at a special courtroom set up in Cherlapally Central Prison. “The quantum of punishment would be announced on Monday,” the prosecution lawyers said.
