Rs 900 crore: PM Modi inaugurates 3 projects in poll-bound Bihar, slams rivals

Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated three infrastructure projects in Bihar. The petroleum sector-related projects included the Durgapur-Banka section of the Paradip-Haldia-Durgapur Pipeline Augmentation Project and two Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) bottling plants in Banka and Champaran. Also present at the virtual event were Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, Deputy Chief Minister Sushil Kumar Modi, and Union petroleum minister Dharmendra Pradhan. In his address at the ceremony, PM Modi listed the efforts of the NDA government to boost development in Bihar, while taking veiled digs at the Opposition for denying opportunities to the 'talented youth' of the state. Citing all the projects which have been completed, he said that the era of one generation seeing work begin, and another seeing it finish, had ended. Bihar is set to go to polls later this year amid the Covid-19 pandemic, making it the first big electoral exercise in the country amid the outbreak of the new disease.
