Triple talaq bill passed, lone Muslim face in Yogi’s govt celebrates

Mohsin Raza, the lone Muslim minister in Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath's cabinet celebrated after the Rajya Sabha passed the bill criminalising triple talaq. The bill finally passed the hurdle in the Upper House of Parliament after members of Janata Dal (United) and All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam walked out. PM Modi also tweeted, saying that an archaic and medieval practice had finally been confined to the dustbin of history.
