Watch: 8-yr-old Namo rescued from kidnappers; Rs 2 lakh reward for cops
Uttar Pradesh police rescued a kidnapped child in Gonda district. Namo, the 8-year-old victim, was kidnapped on July 24 from Gonda’s Colonelganj. The police managed to reunite the child with the family the next day. Three culprits, Suraj Pandey, his wife Chhavi and younger brother Raj, were arrested by police. Two others were injured in the police operation. Additional Director General (Law and Order) Prashant Kumar said that combing operations were still underway in the area. Listing the seizures, he said that an Alto car used in the kidnapping, a pistol, and two country-made guns were recovered. He also said that a reward of Rs 1 lakh each, for the local police and Special Task Force (STF), had been announced by the administration.
