Anglo-indians, jews celebrate 60th anniversary of freedom

As India celebrates her independence day for the 61st time numbers of some communities in the country are dwindling. One such community are the Anglo-Indians. A term officially coined in 1935, it refers to a person born to a native Indian woman and of a male parent of European descent. From two hundred thousand in the nineteen-forties, they now number less than ten thousand, due to a constant trickle of youngsters out of India.
