AP govt accused of signing secret pacts with firms

Arunachal Pradesh government has secretly signed memoranda of understanding (MoUs) with as many as 186 companies for a hydropower project. The office bearers of the Contractors Welfare Association alleged and disclosed this during a press conference at Itanagar on Monday. Nagam Pagam, the association's president, said that the government had indulged in the signing of the MoUs without bringing it to the knowledge of the general public and bypassing certain directives of the central government. He stated that this showed the level of corruption in the government and also it's lack of interest towards environmental issues.
