Garlic farmers at Kullu in Himachal Pradesh are going through a tough time as the garlic from China considered superior to the Indian variety has snatched a major share of the Indian market, forcing local producers to lower their prices. The Chinese variety, though priced higher than the local variety is very much sought after because of its better quality, grading and packing.
