India will moot global carbon budget debate: Ramesh

India will take the lead on global carbon budget and will initiate a debate at the next Climate Summit to be held in Cancun city this year. Environment Minister Jairam Ramesh, said this while addressing a conference on 'Global Carbon Budgets and Equity in Climate Change' held at Mumbai on Monday. In his keynote address, he said that the global climate accord must include the principle of a climate budget. Declaring the essence of equity as a 'matter of survival', he said that India would not compromise on it in principle.
