Pakistan bans JuD among 25 groups

Pakistan Interior Minister Rehman Malik said on Wednesday that the Jamat-ud-Dawa was among 25 groups that had been banned under the 1997 Anti-Terrorism Act.He said this in a written reply to a question in the National Assembly on the number of militant organisations banned by Pakistan. JuD is known as a front of the Lashkar-e-Taiba. JuD chief, Hafiz Saeed, is the main accused in the 26/11 attacks and India wants him arrested. Saeed was, however, released recently on the orders of the Lahore High Court.
