Sonia Gandhi on Thursday flagged off Lifeline Express, the world's first hospital-on-train in New Delhi. The Lifeline Express was first launched in 1991 and consisted of four old coaches released by the railways. The coaches were then reworked and redesigned with the help of engineers and medical experts. Besides Sonia Gandhi, railway minister, Lalu Prasad Yadav was also present during the inauguration.
