Indian National Congress party leader Rahul Gandhi accused the Narendra Modi administration of attacking India's independent institutions which safeguard the democratic set-up in the country. He was in conversation with Professor Ashutosh Varshney of Brown University. When asked a question on recent commentaries on Indian democracy by two foreign institutes, Gandhi said that the situation was much worse. He then used the examples of Iraqi dictator Saddam Hussein and Libyan tyrant Muammar Gaddafi also holding elections, albeit just in name. Watch the full video for more.
