The modern cruise offers a 51-day trip from Varanasi to Dibrugarh in Assam via Bangladesh, covering a 3,200-kilometer distance. The per-day cost of the MV Ganga Vilas cruise is around 25,000 to 50,000, and the cost of the entire 51-day trip will be around 20 lakh. Speaking at the event, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that the beginning of the world's longest river cruise service on the Ganga is a landmark moment, asserting that the project will herald a new age of tourism in India.
