Indian Matchmaking creator Smriti Mundhra talks about growing up & finding love

Filmmaker Smriti Mundhra first met Sima Taparia over 15 years ago, when she was considering signing up as a client. “I don’t know if you’re going to find me a husband,” she remembers saying to her, “but I know you’re going to be a star.” She was right. As the creator of the hit Netflix reality show Indian Matchmaking, Mundhra puts Taparia at front and centre, in a show that is both darkly funny and full of hard truths about how the Indian marriage market works. Here, she talks about how she found love, and lessons she learnt in her search.
