Tennis row: National selector reaches London to pacify Paes

National tennis selector Rohit Rajpal arrived in London today in a bid to pacify Leander Paes to partner lower ranked Vishnu Vardhan at the 2012 London Olympics. Rohit also added that he would try to convince Paes to honour the selection. The All India Tennis Association (AITA) on June 21st had succumbed to the pressure exerted by Mahesh Bhupathi and Rohan Bopanna to announce two teams for the 2012 London Olympics. Paes was paired with a lower ranked player Vishnu Vardhan, while Bhupathi and Bopanna's wish of being teaming up for the quadrennial games was fulfilled. Unhappy with the decision, Paes had threatened to withdraw from the Olympics.
