‘I’m the least racist person in this room’: Trump in final debate with Biden
The final US presidential debate witnessed a heated exchange between President Trump and his rival Joe Biden over the issue of racism. Biden accused Trump of pouring fire on all racist fires in the country, while Trump countered saying that he was the least racist person in the room. The US president portrayed himself as a champion of Black people and reiterated that no president has done more for Black Americans than anyone other than former US President Abraham Lincoln. Trump also attacked Biden, over his support for a 1994 crime bill, saying the legislation did a lot of harm to the Black community. Biden has called the law a mistake in the past, and he repeated that during the debate. Biden said that there is institutional racism in the country and added that he understands why people of colour fear that their children could be targeted by police. Biden also pointed out that Trump once said 'the problem with the crime bill is there's not enough people in jail.' Watch the full video for all the details.
